Arvind Talati: a forgotten modernist pioneer
Architect Arvind Talati is one of the oldest post-independence architects of the country, settled in Ahmedabad since late 50s. Born in Vadodara, architect Talati completed his architectural studies from Sir J J School of Architecture, Mumbai in 1953. He then worked with one of the most celebrated firms of the country, Master, Sathe and Bhuta, in Mumbai before he moved to Paris, to work with Le Corbusier for almost three years. Some of his important contributions to the city include M J Library, LIG housing, Liladhar Kalidas house, Nanavati house, Sulochanaben Hutheesing house & Study of Lakes for AMC.
